About Virtus

Virtus Personal Training was founded in 2021 by Jem Burke. His main motivation for starting the business was to help people grow both physically and mentally, as these aspects are closely connected and mutually reinforcing. By training efficiently, you not only become stronger and healthier but also gain more energy and confidence.

Everyone’s personal goals are different, and so is the approach. At Virtus, Jem aims to lower the barrier to entry by providing training in a relaxed atmosphere that fosters personal growth.

About Jem

Jem is a certified Physical Trainer, NASM Personal Trainer (EREPS Level 4), and Mobility Coach (Assess & Correct).

Movement has always been a central theme in Jem’s life: martial arts, circus, dance, acrobatics, strength training, archery, obstacle courses, hiking—you name it!

He has been teaching for over 15 years, primarily in martial arts, and in 2021 he took the step to further his education and deepen his expertise in personal training.

Jem has competed in the World Longsword Championship and has repeatedly been ranked in the top 100 of the world longsword fighting rankings. He is also the founder and head instructor of ‘Invirtus,’ a H.E.M.A. association, as well as a kickboxing instructor and a certified Animal Flow instructor. He continues to take additional courses each year to expand his knowledge.
